Regent rings is a second generation family run business. We were founded based on the idea that stunning, high quality design engagement rings should be available to every individual style and every individual budget.

Our ring settings range from sterling silver, 9k, 14k, and 18k yellow or white gold plated, to solid 9k, 14k and 18k yellow and white gold. 

Now for the real secret....we use stunning, brilliant cut, double refractive certified Moissanite. Moissanite is so incredibly close to the diamond structure that it passes the diamond thermal conductivity test so it is very difficult to distinguish between the two, even for some professionals!

Moissanite

Moissanite is a gemstone that literally fell from the stars. It was first discovered in 1893 by a French scientist named Henri Moissan. He discovered microscopic particles of the gem in a crater created by a meteorite that fell to Earth. He initially thought that he had discovered diamonds, but later determined that the crystals were composed of silicon carbide. Taking the name of the scientist, they became known as moissanite.

Natural moissanite is incredibly rare, so moissanite available today is laboratory-created. After many years of trial and error, the particles Moissan discovered were successfully synthesized to produce what is now one of the world’s most scintillating gemstones.

Moissanite is engineered to give the stunning illusion of similarity and durability of diamonds.

Diamonds vs Moissanite

Durability on the Mohs scale:  Diamonds - 10 vs Moissanite - 9.25

Brilliance - Moissanite has a slightly higher brilliance than the diamond due to the gem being double refractive, meaning the light hits the gem and is split whereas the diamond is only single refractive.

Colour - Diamonds are colourless. While Moissanite are labelled 'colourless' not all are. Regent rings source only certified VVS1 clarity grade gems which are considered to be excellent clarity.
